Interview: Maya doesn’t need a yearly evaluation. Just pay her.

Hater: What’s your job?
Maya: Installing medical software.
Hater: What do you hate about working?
Maya: Change control, incompetent people, the mysterious fluff that falls from the ceiling, not having skylights even though we’re on the top floor and totally could.
Hater: Who do you want to slap at work and why?
Maya:Ā Everyone who has anything to do with change control because they don’t actually prevent bad things from happening- but they take up thousands of hours a week of people’s otherwise productive time. And they’re convinced they’re doing something worthwhile.
Hater: Do you want to improve at your job?
Maya: No, I just want to keep getting paid.
Hater: What would you prefer to be doing?
Maya: Correcting people’s grammar. Unfortunately being an editor doesn’t pay.
